Grayson McGee win the 2018 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 North Carolina Regional

You could call mason Grayson McGee and his mason tender (and cousin) Trevin Munn the next generation of bricklayers, and you’d be right on several counts. They are 3rd generation bricklayers under their grandfather’s company, McGee Brothers in Monroe, NC.
McGee started laying brick when he was 14-years-old through a program in his church. He’s stuck with it and now has a chance to go to Las Vegas to be one of the youngest bricklayers to ever compete in the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500.
With the masonry industry is in his blood, McGee encourages anyone considering this career path to give it a shot, “It’s a great trade to get into. You don’t need the gym if you have this job right here. You stay fit and you learn how to make money as you’re progressing and learning. It’s not like something where you go to college and learn something for 4 years and have debt.”
McGee and Munn plan to put in a lot of practice for Las Vegas, with a goal of laying 720 perfect brick.
