Vince Polverini Wins the 2018 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® Pennsylvania Regional

Crum Lynne, PA – The 2018 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® Pennsylvania Regional Series has come to a close and mason Vince Polverini and mason tender Richard Small of DM Sabia won it all. Now they head to Las Vegas to compete in the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 World Championship next January at the World of ConcreteFizzano Brothers hosted the regional series event, one of 24 being held across North America. The qualifying national competitors will battle for a chance to win over $125,000 in cash and prizes, including a Ford F250 XLT 4X4 truck and John Deere Gator.


8 teams of highly skilled bricklayers battled for a spot on the national championship roster. Their mission was to build a wall as big as they could in one hour. The mason with the most brick laid with the least mistakes wins. Mason Vince Polverini and mason tender Richard Small celebrated victory with a brick count of 562. For their efforts they win the title “Pennsylvania’s Best Bricklayer,” $1000, and will head to Las Vegas to compete in the World Championship. Polverini also took the title SPEC MIX TOP CRAFTSMAN, which goes to the mason with the “most sellable wall.” That honor earned him an extra $1000.


2nd place went to mason Joe Masters and his mason tender Ryan Drakeley of Dan Lepore and Sons with a brick count of 311 earning them and cash prize of $800. Third place went to mason Jessy Sandy and his mason tender Charlie Sandy of Dan Lepore and Sons, with a brick count of 232, earning them a cash prize of $600.

The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® was established by SPEC MIX in 2003 to showcase the skill and craftsmanship of professional masons.
